Once upon a time the words mattered more than the glamours. And these days with social media and over the top, extinct popularity contests authentic poetry has been turned into a truly pathetic commercialized shit show. At Dead Man’s Press Ink the idea is simple and always has been. To promote new ideas, local area poetry readings, support indie publishing and poets and to make the open mics accessible again to everyone of all forms and styles. The idea was to create something that would open the door to all writers of unique forms and ideas but sadly we also saw what was coming on the horizon already many years ago. Poetry contests based on popularity, money and competition, social media & fake presses, companies using the Internet to make and promote pop stars and not true poets let alone platforms letting profiles create faux vanity presses for scam writers & ripping off poor inexperienced writers. And? It eventually happened and sadly continues to. So Dead Man’s Press Ink was created to put the focus upon what matters. The words and their creators. That and such things as social change, protest and individuality. We support indie poets & small press poetry and always the underdog. And the books and authors we’ve help publish is obviously is an example of that. 🙏
Support Indie Poetry & Unique Voices.
